After retiring from the life of a soldier, he is ready to get on with the responsibilities of an Earl, the foremost to beget an heir. This went on and on throughout the whole book and it didn’t stop at just Caroline but went on to Anthony as well. English’s Shakespeare in Love series, though I did feel like the storylines involving Anthony’s sister and his best friend were introduced only to be left hanging, I’m assuming and hoping that’s because we’ll be seeing them again in stories of their own.
